We're here to help you get the most out of Gym Date.
After downloading Gym Date from the App Store, simply open the app and follow the onboarding survey. Answer questions about your fitness goals, available equipment, experience level, and any physical limitations. The app will generate a personalized workout program based on your responses. Then, schedule your first workout session by adding it to your calendar!
Gym Date integrates with your native iOS calendar through Apple's EventKit. When you schedule a workout, it creates a real calendar event with a reminder 30 minutes before. Tapping the calendar event opens Gym Date directly to that workout session. This makes your gym sessions feel like real appointments rather than optional activities.
Yes! While calendar integration is a key feature, Gym Date works without it. You can still view your workout program, log exercises, and track progress. However, we recommend enabling calendar access to get the most out of the app's scheduling features.
Every exercise in Gym Date has carefully curated alternatives. During your workout, you can tap on any exercise to see substitution options. Each alternative includes information about equipment needed and any load adjustments you should make. This way, if equipment is taken or an exercise doesn't feel right, you can quickly switch to something else.
Absolutely. Gym Date stores all your data locally on your device. We don't have accounts, cloud sync, or external servers. We never see your workout data, progress, or any personal information. Your data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
Yes. Go to Settings within the app to update your profile. You can modify your goals, available equipment, workout frequency, and other preferences. Depending on the changes, you may have the option to generate a new program that better fits your updated profile.
During a workout session, you'll see each exercise with fields for weight and reps. Use the steppers to adjust values, then tap to log each set. The app remembers your last values as smart defaults. You can also tap on completed sets to edit them. A built-in rest timer helps you track recovery between sets.
If you enable HealthKit integration, Gym Date can write your completed workouts to Apple Health. This allows your gym sessions to appear in your overall fitness activity alongside other health data. HealthKit integration is optional and requires your explicit permission. We only write data; we don't read your health data.
Yes, deleting the app will permanently delete all your workout data, progress, and settings. Since everything is stored locally and we don't have cloud backup, there's no way to recover this data. If you use iCloud device backups, your Gym Date data may be included in those backups, but we cannot guarantee data recovery.
Gym Date requires iOS 17 or later. This allows us to use the latest SwiftUI features and provide the best possible experience. If you're running an older iOS version, you'll need to update your device to use the app.
